A good coffee can make almost any occasion a little better.
Whether it is the start of a hen party, a treat for a hardworking team or simply an excuse to get people together, there is something about coffee and cake that instantly makes things feel more relaxed.
That is exactly the sort of feeling behind Flossie’s Bar & Brew.
Run by Laura, Flossie’s Bar & Brew is a coffee trailer offering fresh coffee, sweet treats and plenty of cosy touches, alongside another growing part of the business, Flossie’s Prints.
But it is not simply about turning up, serving drinks and heading home.
There is a real focus on creating something that suits the people and the occasion. From staff treats and local pop ups to hen parties, weddings, baby showers and birthdays, every booking can be a little different.
It is also the result of Laura finding a way to turn a long held dream into something that worked for her.
Laura told Rank Bolt: “I’ve always loved the idea of having my own coffee shop, but the thought of the cost of setting up a traditional shop made it feel pretty unrealistic. Then I started thinking, why does it have to be a shop? A coffee business can be brought to people instead.
“That’s where Flossie’s Bar & Brew came from, taking the coffee shop idea I’d always wanted and turning it into something a bit more fun, flexible and completely my own. The trailer gives me the chance to take Flossie’s to different places, different events and different people, while still creating that little coffee shop feeling wherever we go.
“And alongside the drinks, there’s Flossie’s Prints, which gives me another creative side to the business and means the trailer is about more than just grabbing a coffee. It’s a little piece of Flossie’s wherever we are.”
There is also a bigger idea behind it all. Flossie’s Bar & Brew is built around a mind matters ethos, encouraging people to get outdoors, spend time together and enjoy the simple pleasure of a good coffee.
And sometimes, that is exactly what people need.
Here are three reasons why Flossie’s Bar & Brew could be a lovely addition to your next event, and why there is much more to Flossie’s than coffee alone.
1. Your booking can actually feel personal
One of the nicest things about Flossie’s Bar & Brew is that there is not one fixed formula for every booking.
Laura works with customers to create a menu and set up that makes sense for their occasion.
That matters because a staff appreciation morning is going to feel very different from a hen party. A baby shower has a different atmosphere to a busy community event. And a wedding morning probably needs something slightly different again.
Instead of trying to squeeze every event into the same package, Flossie’s Bar & Brew can adapt.

One recent booking involved helping a head teacher give their team a well deserved break. Fresh coffee was served alongside scones with strawberry jam and biscuits, giving staff the chance to stop for a while and enjoy something together.
It is simple, but that is part of the appeal.
Another booking saw Flossie’s Bar & Brew serving breakfast for brides to be Sara and Yhana during their hen celebrations.
Those are two very different occasions, but both show why having a flexible set up can work so well.
Laura explained: “For me, it’s the experience rather than just the drink. I love creating something that feels personal and a little bit different, even in the smallest details.
“Every event gives me a chance to create something new and make Flossie’s feel like it belongs there. I’m quite particular about the little things, because I think those are often what turn an ordinary experience into something people remember.
“There’s also something really special about being a small independent business. I get to know the people who come back, have proper conversations with customers and actually see their reactions to what I create. It feels much more personal.”
That attention to detail is important.
If there is an idea for the event, Laura is happy to talk it through and see how it can be brought to life.
And that feels much more personal than choosing package A, B or C from a long price list.
2. It brings people together over something everyone understands
Coffee does not need much explaining.
Someone sees a coffee trailer, smells fresh coffee and suddenly the chances of them stopping for a chat increase quite dramatically.
That relaxed social side is a big part of what Flossie’s Bar & Brew is about.
The business has been built around encouraging people to get outside, connect with others and enjoy a few quieter moments.
That might sound simple, because it is.

But simple things can make a big difference at events.
Weddings and parties can be busy. Corporate events can sometimes feel a little formal. Staff days can disappear into meetings and schedules.
Having somewhere people can grab a coffee, pick up something sweet and talk for a few minutes creates a natural break in the day.
It also works well for community pop ups, where Flossie’s Bar & Brew can become somewhere people stop rather than simply somewhere they buy a drink.
Laura has even served free coffee to neighbours, which says quite a lot about the spirit behind the business.
There is a genuine community feel to it.
And that community is something Laura wants to build on as Flossie’s grows.
She said: “I’d love to see Flossie’s become a familiar face around the local area. Something people recognise, look out for and feel genuinely connected to.
“Growth is definitely part of the plan, but I don’t want to grow just for the sake of growing. I want to build something with a strong sense of community around it and continue working with other local businesses, events and people.
“Most importantly, I want Flossie’s to keep that feeling of being a welcoming place where nobody feels like a stranger. If someone comes for a coffee and leaves having had a lovely conversation, discovered something new or simply had a better day than when they arrived, then that’s exactly what I want the business to be about.”
That sums up the idea rather nicely.
And while nobody is pretending a flat white can solve every problem in the world, it can certainly make a cold morning or a long afternoon more pleasant.
3. Flossie’s Prints gives the business another creative side
Coffee might be what first catches someone’s attention, but there is another side to Flossie’s that deserves plenty of attention of its own.
Flossie’s Prints gives Laura another outlet for the creativity that runs through the whole business.
The online shop offers prints that allow people to take a little bit of that Flossie’s personality home with them.

It also means Flossie’s Bar & Brew is becoming much more than a mobile coffee business.
For Laura, that is particularly exciting now.
She has recently left her full time job, meaning Flossie’s itself is now her full time focus.
That gives her more time to develop both sides of the business, from taking the trailer to events and pop ups to putting more energy into Flossie’s Prints and growing its online presence.
There is already a new collection of prints on the way, with Laura preparing to start sharing the latest designs soon.
That feels like a natural next step.

The same small details Laura thinks about when setting up the coffee trailer can also come through in the things she creates.
It is another chance to build something personal.
Customers might first discover Flossie’s while grabbing a coffee at a local event, then later come across a print they want for their home or as a gift.
Likewise, somebody who discovers Flossie’s Prints online could then find themselves keeping an eye out for the coffee trailer at an upcoming event.
The two sides sit nicely alongside one another.
One is about creating small, memorable moments in person.

The other gives people the chance to bring some of that creativity into their own space.
And with Laura now able to dedicate herself to Flossie’s full time, there is plenty of room for that side of the business to keep developing.
Whether you are planning a wedding, organising a hen party, arranging something for your team or putting together a local event, Flossie’s Bar & Brew gives you the chance to create something around the people who will actually be there.
And if you are looking for something for your walls as well as your coffee cup, Flossie’s Prints is another part of the business worth watching, especially with a new collection on the way.
You can keep up with upcoming pop ups, see recent events and get in touch with Laura through the Flossie’s Bar & Brew Facebook page, or explore the online collection through Flossie’s Prints on Etsy.
